Connecting You with Michigan’s Critical decision makers
About Peninsula Public Affairs
Navigating the halls of power is complicated. We know, we have been doing it for over 25 years. Elected officials want to meet the needs of Michiganders, but making sure they know the issues that businesses, non-profits and local governments requires connections and education. That is where Peninsula Public Affairs comes in to help.
Founded by longtime lobbyist and policy specialist Brad Williams, Peninsula Public Affairs looks to turn clients needs and ideas into concrete results. Brad has built a reputation as one of Michigan's most respected public affairs professionals. Throughout his career, Brad has helped businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders navigate complex political and policy challenges while advancing meaningful outcomes for their organizations and the state of Michigan.
Prior to founding Peninsula Public Affairs, Brad served as Vice President of Government Relations for the Detroit Regional Chamber, where he spent 17 years leading advocacy efforts on behalf of one of the nation's largest chambers of commerce. As a member of the Chamber's executive leadership team, Brad helped shape legislative and political strategy across a broad range of issues, including transportation, energy, healthcare, tax policy, economic development, technology, and workforce development.
“Trusted by business leaders, nonprofits, and policymakers to navigate Michigan's complex political and legislative landscape.”
Brad's work has contributed to some of Michigan's most significant public policy achievements, including legislation supporting Detroit's municipal restructuring, the construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, elimination of the Michigan Business Tax, expansion of educational opportunity through Michigan Reconnect, and major investments in transportation infrastructure. He has also led statewide ballot initiatives, managed one of Michigan's most influential business political action committees, and organized high-profile gubernatorial and U.S. Senate debates that have shaped public discourse across the state.
As a senior member of the team responsible for the nationally recognized Mackinac Policy Conference, Brad helped shape the Midwest's premier gathering of business, civic, and political leaders. He played a key role in developing conference programming, coordinating policymaker engagement, and organizing candidate debates that often provided voters and stakeholders with their first in-depth look at candidates for Governor, U.S. Senate, and other major offices.
Today, Brad combines decades of policy expertise, trusted bipartisan relationships, and strategic insight to help clients achieve their goals in Lansing and beyond. He is a trusted advisor to corporate executives, nonprofit leaders, and elected officials seeking thoughtful counsel, effective advocacy, and results. Brad has been recognized by Crain's Detroit Business as both a "40 Under 40" honoree and one of Michigan's "50 Names to Know in Lobbying."
